Summary:
The Graduate Residential Coordinator supports the Assistant Director in the operation of a residential area on campus. A Graduate Residential Coordinator (GRC) co-supervises Resident Assistants (RAs), while supporting the Office of Residential Education in all campus wide projects such as Housing Selection, Student Staff Selection, Student Staff Training, and other projects as assigned. GRCs serve as graduate assistants in the Division of Campus Life and participate in campus wide events, planning, and programming. Additionally, the Graduate Residential Coordinator maintains responsibility in many functions of housing and residential life, including, but not limited to, programming, duty and crisis response, student conduct, student development, and facilities management. The Graduate Residential Coordinator is supervised by the Assistant Director of Residential Education.
Contract Details:
- Time of Employment: July 28, 2025 through May 29, 2026
- The position is contingent on acceptance in a full-time Wagner College graduate program.
- Compensation includes room and board (meal plan), 100% graduate tuition remission for 3 courses per term, free on-campus parking, and semesterly stipend. Stipends are paid on the last business day of each month from September through April, with the exception of January.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Maintain 29 weekly office hours (evening hours for meetings and programs included) and report to direct supervisor(s). Office hours should be scheduled Monday through Friday, unless otherwise noted.
- Manage an assigned residential facility of undergraduate and/or graduate students ranging from 125 to 800 students.
- Manage an assigned departmental function; First Year Experience, Operations, Returning Seahawks Program, or Diversity and Career Programming
- Participate in Graduate Assistant training for the Division of Campus Life in summer/fall – dates TBD.
- Participate in all Residential Education professional and student staff trainings, in-halls, and departmental wide operations (Orientation Leader and Resident Assistant selection, Professional staff selection, housing selection, etc). Support divisional and institutional wide events.
General Tasks and Duties:
- Co-supervise a Resident Assistant staff ranging from 4-19 paraprofessionals on community development planning, programming, and personal development.
- Foster a community based on respect and inclusivity for student staff and residents.
- Serve as a resource and support related to academic, personal, and social concerns.
- Manage program development based on resident needs - collaborate with outside offices such as Student Engagement & Activities, Center for Intercultural Advancement, Campus Ministry, Athletics, Admissions, Lifelong Learning, and others.
- Provide on-going feedback to direct supervisees to aid in their professional and personal development.
- Participate in campus on-call duty rotation in response to emergency and crisis situations.
- Serve as a Level I hearing officer for alleged violations to the Student Code of Conduct.
- Serve as a mandated Title IX reporter.
- Manage building opening and closing procedures.
- Attend, participate, and assist with planning of training for professional staff and student staff.
- Attend regularly scheduled meetings including in-area staff meetings, professional staff meetings, committee meetings, and divisional meetings.
- Be available for evening and weekend responsibilities including, but not limited to staff development, weekend programming, Divisional requirements, and campus-wide programs.
- Represent the department at Wagner College events including, but not limited to, Wagner Weekend (Homecoming), Songfest, Greek Week, WagnerStock, and Commencement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
