Position Overview

The Maintenance Technician performs general and preventative maintenance of facilities & equipment and completes necessary documentation associated with maintenance activities to support production requirements. The primary focus of this position will be Lamination systems, HVAC systems, and electrical installation/repair.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Analyzing and repair of mechanical problems. Primary focus will be maintenance/repair of resin and gel spray systems, HVAC systems, and electrical installation/repair.
  • Repair and maintenance of forklifts, cranes, hoists, and other industrial equipment
  • Fabrication of wood and steel items.
  • Troubling shooting and repair of electrical systems including motor controls, heating & cooling systems, and lighting circuits.
  • Daily job duties will be varied and dynamic, requiring high levels of customer service and attention to detail.
  • Workload will be tracked via daily schedules and assignments requiring responsibility and accountability for quality and timeliness of completion.
  • Compliance to safety policies and procedures is required, as well as identifying risks and hazards prior to job completion.
  • Requires high foot travel and working throughout the facility.  Lifting overhead within prescribed safety limitations.  Working at heights: ladders, rooftops, booms and lifts, work platforms, etc.  Working outside in all possible weather conditions.  Overall good physical condition and agility.
  • Work hours: typically, 4 days per week at 10 hours per day, 5:30 AM to 4:00 PM daily, but times will be adjusted as demands require.  Weekend work is rare but may be necessary depending on workload and repair needs.

WORK CONDITIONS

  • Regularly required to stand (90%), walk, climb, and bend during workday.  Exposed to noise, dust, fumes, and odors on a daily basis.  Physical exertion is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have a minimum of 1 year experience in the repair and maintenance of HVAC/electrical systems/equipment or Lamination systems in a manufacturing/industrial environment. A minimum of 3-5 years facility maintenance experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings/schematics.
  • PC based software experience preferred.
  • Ability to work with coworkers in close proximity and in a team environment displaying mutual respect
  • Ability to fluently speak, read, write, and understand English

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

  • Must possess the desire and ambition to work safely at all times and report all hazards to their Supervisor immediately
  • Must understand basic terminology such as OSHA, DEP, and  other regulatory agencies
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment where designated, including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, etc.
  • Must be able to understand and complete the OSHA questionnaire, pass spirometer test, and physically wear a respirator where required
  • Must be able to physically handle the requirements of the job, including lifting, bending, climbing stairs, spending working hours on your feet, etc.
  • Must be able to understand all safety related documents and worksite rules and practices, equipment operating instructions, documented safety management systems, and health and safety requirements, including the General Safety Rules and Individual Safety Commitment

The anticipated pay range for this position is $20.00 -24.30, hourly. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.<
