Job Description
Primary Function of Position
The Director SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting plays a critical role in achieving our overall goal of delivering world-class financial reporting. This highly visible role frequently interacts with executive management as part of managing all external financial reporting processes.
This role offers a great opportunity to work closely with various Finance departments within the Company, including Investor Relations, Corporate Accounting, Revenue Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, Tax, and Stock Administration, as well as the HR, Legal, Regulatory, Product Operations, and Business Development departments, which will allow you to gain a vast amount of knowledge of the Company’s business and operations that are essential for solid career development.

Essential Job Duties
- Manage all aspects of the external reporting processes, including Form 10-Ks and 10-Qs, as well as earnings releases, proxy filings, and other ad hoc registration statements with a significant emphasis on high-quality financial reporting.
- Manage the preparation of supporting documentation for all areas of our external reporting process, including the balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flows, statement of stockholders’ equity, EPS calculations, and share-based compensation.
- Partner with the Investor Relations department in preparing our quarterly earnings script and other investor presentations.
- Using excellent written communication skills, draft external reporting disclosures and MD&A, along with other external and internal reporting documents.
- Using exceptional verbal communication skills, run review meetings and other discussions with Executive Leadership.
- Coordinate the review of SEC filings with external auditors, outside legal counsel, and executive management.
- Oversee and review all financial press releases and public information announcements.
- Own the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls within the team.
- Ensure audits are performed in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures.
- Communicate results of audit and consulting projects via written reports and oral presentations to management and process owners.
- Oversee ongoing accounting responsibilities of the team, including share-based compensation, leasing, strategic investments, and M&A accounting, including goodwill and intangible assets.
- Drive the implementation efforts for and ongoing monitoring of significant new accounting pronouncement, including ongoing communication with other company departments.
- Provide technical accounting guidance related to special projects, including M&A activity and strategic investments.
- Facilitate career development of team members on the team and develop and manage the long-term roadmap for the team.
- Drive increased automation efforts of the day-to-day tasks and reporting, reducing the manual touchpoints required.
