The Protected Communication Systems (PCS) team is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer in a role committed to creating creative and cost-effective solutions for our ground and airborne systems.

As part of Collins Aerospace, Mission Systems organization, we specialize in developing advanced communication systems, ground and flight computers, sensors, cyber and software solutions, as well as providing integration of Mission Systems. As part of the PCS Department, the Systems Engineering department supports a variety of communications systems including SATCOM (including AEHF, EHF, X-Band, Ka-Band, Ku-Band, C-Band, and PTW), Line-of-Site (LOS) Radio Terminals and Secure Switching Networks.

What You Will Do
   • Lead the development of full lifecycle solutions from CONOPS to Validation
   • Define and perform lab activities including definition, setup, configuration management, and testing
   • Integrate solutions within their target environment
   • Coach and review the work of lower level professionals
   • Influence others regarding policies, practices, and procedures
   • Manage small projects or processes
   • Manage the preparation and/or execution of Design Reviews as well as Integration, Dry Run, and Formal Qualification Testing
   • Review minor and document moderate changes in systems or processes to solve difficult and sometimes complex problems
   • Influence decision-makers with recommended courses of action
   • Analyze and document system behaviors
   • Support system trade studies, requirements analysis, allocation to subsystems
   • Define Modeling, Hardware, and Software Interfaces

Qualifications You Must Have 
   • Strong integration and test experience including test procedure development, test execution, test reporting, and test automation.
   • Proficient in tooling to include Microsoft products, or tasking boards (Jira, IBM EWM, etc.)
   • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
   • Active and transferable U.S. government issued SECRET security clearance is required prior to start date 
   • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer 
   • Experience in Communication Radio and Systems: SATCOM, LOS/BLOS, AEHF, PTW, or V/UHF 
   • Experience in Environmental Qualification Testing (EQT)
   • Experience in System Level Integration, Verification, and Validation (IV&V) for ground based, ship, submarine, or airborne platforms
   • Experience in systems support to software application and hardware development
   • Experience in Scripting
   • Proficient in tooling to include CAMEO, Rhapsody
