SUMMARY

The Manufacturing Lead will support the production supervisor in the assembly of product according to the required specifications and processes. This individual will help oversee production, while also escalating issues requiring support from the supervisor and/or engineering and coaching and training other team members.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Help enforce PPE standards and HR policies, e.g., cell phone and earbud standards, AM and PM breaks, etc. with all associates across departments.
  • Ensure timely completion of open work orders. Work with team to assemble entire product and/or components while adhering to work instructions.
  • Position and assemble parts according to prints.
  • Work with material handler to ensure staging of all necessary parts and subassemblies required for open work orders.
  • Ensure manufacturing adherence to all quality regulations; escalate non-conformities to Manufacturing Engineer as needed.
  • Perform necessary transactions in ERP system to maintain accurate inventory.
  • Lead start of shift meetings to ensure team is aware of/aligned to daily objectives.
  • Coach and train other team members; participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Oversee routine 5S activities to maintain clean and orderly staging of materials throughout work area.
  • Lead daily Lean Daily Management (LDM) meetings and update all charts as necessary.
  • Record production data including quantities assembled and downtime onto LDM boards as well as the Data Center Daily input log (for Data Center only) to use as a resource to solve problems and find route cause.
  • Notify Manufacturing Engineer, Team Lead or Supervisor of defective materials or faulty operations.
  • Ensure tooling and fixtures are optimized for maximum productivity, including calibrations.
  • Support and lead the Production Supervisor as needed. (i.e. vacation, sickness, etc.).
  • Exemplify a lean thinking mindset and drive change management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED or related experience and/or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Mechanically inclined with previous experience in a manufacturing environment or related field

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Familiar with assembly tools and equipment
  • Quality assurance experience a plus
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-focused environment
  • Must be able to enforce policy and standardization
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be authorized to work in the US
