Under the direction of the Warehouse Manager, the Shipping/Receiving Clerk is responsible for assisting with the programs and functions for Alphia, Inc. and Veracity Logistics in accordance with established Federal, State, and Local guidelines and company policies. Ensures the accuracy of all shipping documents and maintains all data and records relative to shipping activities.

Major Responsibilities & Duties:

• Support the shipment of goods produced and the received goods and supplies to production/storage of goods destined for sale to our customer base.
• Assures that shipping counts match picking documents and assists with resolving any discrepancies.
• Ensures proper labels and tickets have been applied before shipping
• Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
• Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
• Ensures the accuracy of all receiving documents and gathers and matches forms (PO, packing slip, computer printout) relative to receiving activities.
• Assures that receiving counts match purchase orders and packing slip documents and assists in resolving any discrepancies.
• May direct others in preparing outgoing and receiving incoming shipments.
• Load and unload trucks
• Weigh out ingredients
• Sample ingredients and take to lab for appropriate testing
• Assist with stocking shelves
• Load trucks safely and efficiently
• Maintain segregation of ingredients
• Assist with inventory count and control
• Monitor quality of inbound ingredients
• Uphold a safe work environment for yourself and others
• Maintain good condition of grains and ingredients (FIFO)
• Knowledge of equipment safety policies
• Report needed repairs
• Report safety hazards
• Provide high level of service to Veracity Logistics customers
• Assist quality control manager with all mill and warehouse audits
• Be available to help in all other companies when asked upon by your department manager
• Regular, predictable attendance is required and is an essential function of the position.

Requirements of the Job:

• Must have a good working knowledge of inventory control systems.
• Minimum one year of shipping experience in a production environment.
• Microsoft Office Products
• Experience with shipping software of all types.
• Ability to work required OT and on-call status on rotating basis.
• Forklift certified
