Supervisor tasks will involve performing inspections, reviewing vendor scheduling and ensuring post orders are followed. Will work closely with the Global Security team in driving continuous improvements in line with the Security strategy.

Job Summary

As a Security Supervisor, you will be reporting to the Global Security Americas Manager and will be responsible for supervising both BD and Vendor security officers, carrying out administrative procedures as required by the BDX corporate site, and be responsible for protecting employees, visitors, and company assets, all with a dedication to a safe and secure work environment. 

Supervisor tasks will involve performing inspections, reviewing vendor scheduling and ensuring post orders are followed. Will work closely with the Global Security team in driving continuous improvements in line with the Security strategy.  

Duties and Responsibilities 

The supervisor's responsibilities include conducting inspections, reviewing vendor schedules, and ensuring adherence to post orders. They will collaborate closely with the Global Security team to drive continuous improvements in alignment with the Security strategy. 

The duties are as follows but not limited to: 

  • Supervision of Security Officers (BD and Vendors) 

  • Ensuring that all personnel deliver high-quality service 

  • Maintains a professional departmental and company reputation, i.e. follow BD business core values 

  • Lead, mentor and train personnel to ensure compliance 

  • Handle the Evacuation Monitor Program and required practice drills 

  •  Lead and supervise onsite Special Events

  • Meeting the needs of a diverse population, and addressing any security issues in a timely manner 

  • Works closely with contracted guard services to ensure adequate site security coverage. 

  • Performs physical security duties to ensure equipment functionality and a safe working environment. 

  • Responds to alarms and medical calls. 

  • Handles onsite investigations. 

  • Assists associates in personal escorts. 

  • Assists associates with vehicle issues. 

Qualifications 

  • High school degree required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. 

Experience

  • 3-5 years of corporate security/life safety experience at supervisory level, supporting a large matrixed organization/site 

  • Confirmed knowledge of corporate safety and security practices, procedures, equipment and console operation. 

  • Must have extensive knowledge of security protocol. 

Skills

  • Strong teammate that collaborates well with others to address problems and actively incorporate input from various sources 

  • Maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.

  • Interact and cooperate with regulatory, fire/rescue and law enforcement agencies.
