The Role

Introduction

Kyndryl spun off from IBM in November 2021, instantly becoming the largest infrastructure services provider in the world with many of the Fortune 500 already among its clients.  But we don’t want to be JUST an infrastructure services provider, we want and need to find innovative ways to do more for those clients.  With that in mind, we have been aggressively expanding our consulting ranks in innovative areas like cloud computing, software development, and data.  This expanded consulting team works with new and existing clients on some of their most ambitious projects.

Your Role and Responsibilities

Kyndryl is looking for practitioners who are passionate about helping some of the world’s biggest companies modernize their application portfolio and infrastructure.  Do you enjoy designing, building & implementing modern solutions to help client applications run optimally and solve business problems?   Do you get excited implementing new software solutions, infrastructure platforms, and development patterns that provide companies opportunities for modernization, significant cost reductions, and solve their most complex risks?

At Kyndryl, our technical consultants learn and develop leading-edge technologies to delight our customers.  They use practical experience to help clients imagine what’s possible and build what’s practical leveraging modern engineering practices.  They also deliver proof of concept and MVP projects where customers create an iterative design as they mature new technologies.  The technical consultant we are seeking for this role will have a passion for integration.  They will be able to bring multiple COTS, SaaS, and home grown applications together to provide higher-level, business-oriented services.  They will do this through the use of Azure native services where possible.

Responsibilities:

• Structure, lead and facilitate various design meetings and workshops, be the face of Kyndryl to client leadership, discuss common architecture patterns and reference models, coordinate to ensure the right technical skills are on the team
• Establish the solution architecture approach, structure and lead requirements analysis, outline key architectural decisions, plan for milestones, manage engagement outcomes, and oversee project team members to manage toward engagement outcomes
• Lead development teams including code reviews, effort estimates, prioritization, and decisions on architecture and tech debt.
• Contribute to Kyndryl knowledge base and methods with technique papers, work product descriptions, architectural decisions, guiding principles, documents, and code assets
• Analyze technical requirements, plan and execute design and implementation work, while accounting for time, cost and quality targets
• Possess strong leadership skills and further the evolution of intellectual capital assets and developing practice resources
• Educate, mentor and coach teams in applying consulting techniques

Required Experience/Skills:

• An entrepreneurial attitude.  Our Software development teams are small and agile, everyone will stretch themselves to tasks they are not used to.
• Ability to relate business goals to software architecture to required infrastructure.
• Proficiency in several modern development languages (Java, .Net, Javascript frameworks, etc...)
• Deep understanding of application architecture, design principles and best practices
