About the role

As Global Media Pillar Lead you will be the leader responsible for integrating and growing our global media organization as a best-in-class offering, providing the vision and direction to a diverse team to help us win the decade in media. The role includes identifying key focus and investment areas for our media business and working directly with senior leadership and board stakeholders to prioritize and execute those investments. You will be a key voice in helping the team win business and grow existing clients.

Candidates should have a demonstrated track record of innovation and growth with all of the ingredients necessary to do so: setting vision and strategy, thought leadership, and building strong global operational teams. Our ideal candidate is a fast and flexible go-getter who jumps on new opportunities, with a natural aptitude for collaboration and a proven track record for leadership. 

This role is global and can be based in Media.Monks San Francisco, New York, or London offices.

Responsibilities

  • Operationalize the vision for the Media.Monks media organization that positions it as the global standard for the future of advanced media.
  • Organize and manage Regional Media leads who support cross-functional teams that do high impact marketing and business strategy, media planning, buying, analytics, measurement and communications strategy for brand and performance outcomes globally.
  • Establish and champion an exceptional team culture, values, and ways of working that motivate and inspire the global media organization.
  • Evaluate new market, partner, and service line opportunities for the media business (both traditional and digital) and develop business plans and investment cases to capture those opportunities.
  • Establish global media partner relationship and lead rate negotiations at the highest level 
  • Develop and manage senior client relationships, including being an exec sponsor, contribute to new business development and pitches.
  • Continually strive for improvement and innovation by researching new media partners and collaborating with the Partnerships team. 
  • Act as a key public voice for the Media.Monks team in the media industry. 

Qualifications

  • 15+ years experience with demonstrated traditional and digital media, leadership and strategy expertise.
  • Compelling storyteller with exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and a knack for unravelling complex problems and processes in an easy to understand way.
  • Analytical thinker that shows an ability to analyze raw data, identify true insights and develop actionable recommendations. Must have a natural affinity with numbers.
  • A passion to help and develop people – making yourself readily available to answer questions and offer support, and the ability to motivate people to succeed.
  • Strong work ethic – highly organized, diligent and attentive to detail.
  • Experience with global platform contract management and partner selection/onboarding
  • Strong project management skills to organize teams across complex projects.
  • Enjoys what they do and can have fun in the process.
  • A recent focus on enterprise level digital media. Up-to-date on all current trends in brand and performance digital media. 
  • Familiarity with most forms of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies and working knowledge of when and how to apply them to a given client challenge.
  • Proficient in Google docs, slides, sheets or equivalent (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
