<p><b><u>Job Family</u>:</b></p>Scientist<p><br/><b><u>Travel Required</u>:</b></p>None<p><br/><b><u>Clearance Required</u>:</b></p>Ability to Obtain Public Trust<p></p><p></p><p><b><u>What You Will Do</u>:</b></p><p><span>We are currently searching for a Staff Scientist to provide laboratory leadership and support services to perform interdisciplinary and collaborative research from bench to beside with the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI). This is a full-time, on-site opportunity in Bethesda, MD.<span>   </span></span></p><ul><li><p>Combine biochemical, molecular, cellular, genetic, and quantitative approaches to investigate fundamental biological processes across a range of organisms, including fish, <span>flies, mice, mammals,</span> microbes, and viruses.</p></li><li><p>Gain an understanding on how cells sense, respond, and adapt to a variety of stress conditions, including nutrient deprivation, organelle damage, and pathogen infection.</p></li><li><p>Address how alterations in mTOR, TFEB, TFE3, and <span>lysosomal function lead</span> to human disease.</p></li><li><p><span>Seek to identify potential</span> sites for therapeutic intervention suitable for further evaluation in translational and clinical research efforts.</p></li><li><p>Contribute to training and mentoring of all laboratory members.</p></li></ul><p><br/><b><u>What You Will Need</u>:</b></p><ul><li><p>PhD with at least TWO (2) years of postdoctoral research experience in molecular biology, cellular biology, biochemistry, or related field OR</p></li><li><p>Master’s degree with at least FIVE (5) years of intensive, hands-on research experience in molecular biology, cellular biology, biochemistry, or related field in lieu of PhD</p></li><li><p>Must have a mastery of Zebrafish models with skills such as husbandry, genetic crossing, and genotyping protocols. </p></li><li><p>Must have a have a strong publication record.</p></li><li><p>Experience working with other animal models.</p></li><li><p>Expertise in cellular biology and microscopy imaging. </p></li><li><p><span>Must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD Public Trust. Candidates must receive approved adjudication of their Public Trust prior to onboarding with Guidehouse.
