Summary: The Deputy Project Manager (Transport Division) is part of Sheladia’s International Division and is familiar with road/bridges/infrastructure project design, implementation, operation, and maintenance tasks and sound knowledge of related technical specifications, codes, and practices. They are responsible for supporting the division team and management with project proposal preparations, including technical write-ups, and coordination during the project set-up and implementation stages, including day-to-day monitoring from the home office to ensure smooth completion of the project as required under the contract.
The Responsibilities for this Position Include but are not Limited to:
- Supporting drafting of necessary project documents according to agreed deadlines, including but not limited to project weekly & monthly work plans, procurement plans, spending plans, M&E plans, risk matrices, O&M plans, periodic progress reports, etc.
- Work closely with the team in the home office and various project sites to ensure smooth project implementation.
- Coordinate with project team leaders and other staff members and contribute to the project deliverables, reporting, and compliance as required under the contract.
- Review project reports and other documents received from various project sites, share feedback on the quality of documents, and assist the supervisor in the timely submission of project deliverables as per the project-specific contract requirements.
- Participate in project staff meetings and planning sessions.
- Assist supervisor with the project budget preparation, monitoring, and compliance.
- Coordination from various sites to collect monthly timesheets, and expense reports and ensure timely processing of monthly staff salary and other eligible expenditures in close coordination with the home office account team.
- Preparation of monthly project invoices in coordination with the team leaders/project managers in the field and accounting colleagues in the home office and ensuring timely submission of monthly invoices; further follow-up with the client to confirm payment receipt from the clients.
- Assist supervisor on the project staffing requirements, including preparation of Terms of Reference (TOR), coordination with the recruitment team to identify potential experts, arranging interviews, selection of experts, and arranging the employment agreements in coordination with the HR team.
- Other duties as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or similar field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the transport infrastructure sector.
- Prior experience on Donor funded projects such as USAID/MCC/MCA/UN/JICA/World Bank/ADB is preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others and ability to develop and maintain relationships with team, clients, customers, etc.
- Excellent communication skills with very strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
