Job Description

Position Summary

This position serves as a member on the central regional HR country process expert (CPE) team for associate/labor relations and pre-litigation/litigation management.  You will ensure compliance with all relevant labor and employment laws, regulations, policies, and practices.

You will support development of Bosch’s union labor and Positive Associate Relations (PAR) strategies. The associate relations team also designs and installs resources in order to minimize the number and impact of employment legal claims including training, counseling/coaching, and creating/maintaining HR policies/ procedures, and tools.

This role supports the associate relations program to ensure alignment with Bosch Values, navigating through effective management (both proactive and reactive) of a wide range of associate relations topics.  This position will collaborate with the HR Business Partner team, work with colleagues across multiple organizations and levels, build trusted relationships, and lead with a pragmatic empathetic approach to think both outside of the box and within company policy and laws to drive successful solutions.

Primary Functions

  1. Consult HR partners on complex leaves management topics, including FMLA, STD, LTD, PLOA, USERRA and related ADA accommodation requests.
  2. Collaborate with HR Business Partners, HR COEs, HR Service, Compliance and employment legal counsel on complex employment/labor investigations and their resolution.
  3. Member of union labor team who supports collective bargaining, grievances, arbitrations, negotiations and labor discipline issues.
  4. Manages HR compliance case process and guides investigations for cases reported to Bosch’s Compliance hotline, to include analyzing facts, applying relevant policies and past practice to reach conclusions, and recommend management actions.  Liaise with internal and external legal counsel, compliance and other internal investigative bodies as necessary.
  5. Consult, guide, coach and provide expertise to regional HR Business Partners on complex topics to address associate behavior and performance concerns; provide guidance regarding the development and delivery of appropriate feedback and corrective/disciplinary action that aligns company policies and applicable employment law.
  6. Provide partnership and guidance to regional HR Business Partners, ensuring compliance, associate advocacy and fairness to support strategic HR topics.
  7. Advise and provide counsel on ADA, ADEA, and religious accommodation requests and related matters.
  8. Research and monitor emerging employment-related federal, state and local legal and regulatory requirements and analyzes their impact on existing policy, employment practices and/or systems.
  9. Support updates and application of the corporate drug and alcohol policy including pre-employment and random screening. 

Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the business to develop solutions and best practices.  Participate in developing department goals, objectives and systems.  Complete special assignments and projects as requested.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or a related field. 
  • 5+ years employee relations experience.
  • Strong fundamental knowledge of human resources management practices and US labor / employment law.
  • Proven ability to consult, solve, and resolve complex problems and conflict at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to effectively comprehend, interpret, apply and/or resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation, or federal/state law.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to all professional levels, both verbally and in writing, while maintaining a high level of integrity and confidentiality
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and adjust to changing business demands.
  • Strong analytic skills with an ability to prepare and interpret data to support analysis and optimization of processes, policies, etc.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Preferred:

  • 2 years of HR experience or employee relatio
