Job Description
Position Summary
This role offers an exciting opportunity to help NASTAD advance its vision of a world committed to ending HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis, and intersecting epidemics by supporting governmental public health systems coordination and innovation. The Senior Manager will play a critical leadership role in guiding and supporting our members, including health departments nationwide, through strategic stakeholder engagement, collaborative problem-solving, tailored technical assistance and the creation of practical tools and resources. Serving as a subject matter expert in HIV systems coordination, including both medical and support programs, the Senior Manager will enhance coordination and collaboration across healthcare systems such as Ryan White, ADAP and Medicaid as well as community partners. This individual will also cultivate and manage relationships with healthcare systems and other key partners to drive alignment and improve coordination across sectors.
Essential Duties
Lead the development and execution of a multi-sector stakeholder engagement strategy to support jurisdictional efforts and promote cross-sector collaboration, providing subject matter expertise on HIV systems coordination.
Serve as a primary point of contact for our members, including state and local health departments, assessing their needs and providing strategic guidance including policy clarification, coordination, and technical assistance.
Develop and manage stakeholder engagement workplans, ensuring alignment with broader project goals and timely completion of deliverables.
Plan & facilitate meetings, workgroups, and convenings to support systems coordination and knowledge-sharing among jurisdictional partners.
Cultivate and manage strategic relationships with leaders across healthcare systems, community-based organizations, Medicaid, housing, behavioral health, criminal justice, and other sectors.
Lead the development of programming focused on scalable, sustainable models of systems coordination that can be replicated across jurisdictions.
Design and deliver content for NASTAD-led convenings, including virtual and in-person presentations, panel facilitation, and training sessions.
Represent NASTAD at national conferences, workgroups, and other external forums, serving as a subject matter expert on stakeholder engagement and systems coordination.
Track jurisdictional engagement activities and key performance metrics using project management tools.
Develop tools, templates, guides, and other practical resources to support jurisdictions.
Lead efforts to improve integration across siloed programs, including Ryan White, prevention initiatives, Medicaid, housing, and behavioral health services.
Draft content for funder reports, abstracts, and other types of written summaries of project progress, jurisdictional successes, and emerging challenges.
Minimum Qualifications
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
Deep knowledge and expertise of governmental HIV programming such as Ryan White, ADAP, HOPWA, etc.
Expert-level project management skills
Strong facilitation and presentation skills
Ability to design & implement programs for our members & stakeholders
Expert level skills in the Microsoft Office suite
Tech-Savvy: ability to learn new software quickly
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong ability to communicate and collaborate internally and externally
Ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
Experience/Education
Bachelor’s degree or higher or any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that demonstrates the candidate’s ability to perform the position’s duties.
