Finance Director, International Carbohydrate Solutions
Location: Amsterdam, or another ADM EMEA location, with frequent travel to Amsterdam.
The position will report to the CFO - Carbohydrate Solutions: Leslie Zeaman
Position Summary:
Finance Director, International Carbohydrate Solutions, has end-to-end responsibility for financial leadership of the International Corn Milling business, covering manufacturing assets and joint ventures across Bulgaria, Turkey, Morocco, France, China, Hungary, and Russia.
 
This role is a key member of the International CarbSol leadership team and provides strategic financial leadership to drive performance, capital discipline, and sustainable growth across EMEA and APAC. The Finance Director will strengthen consistency, transparency, and efficiency across financial processes, ensuring a strong linkage between business performance, financial outcomes, and strategic objectives.
 
The role plays a critical part in shaping and executing growth initiatives, including capital investments, partnerships, and M&A, while ensuring full alignment with ADM’s financial control framework and long-term value creation goals.
 
Job Responsibilities:

• Report directly to the Carbs BU CFO, with a dotted-line relationship to the EMEA Carbs BU Leader.
• Lead, coach, and develop internal and external finance resources, fostering a strong performance and results-driven culture.
• Continuously improve robust monthly reporting processes, operational performance tracking /forecasting, annual budgeting and support business growth.
• Work with the management teams and cross-functional teams to continuously review the economic viability of business assets and product portfolio to maximize value for ADM and manage risks.
• Partner with BU leaders for potential M&A, partnerships and Capex projects. Help scope and assess any significant Growth Capex and/or M&A opportunities
• Provide forward-looking insights, variance analysis, and trend forecasting using internal and external benchmarks.
• Champion the use of data analytics and new technologies (e.g., Power BI) to deliver timely, decision-ready insights, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports and dashboards used by management as part of the monthly and quarterly reporting processes, and drive optimization.
• Work closely with Controllers, FP&A, and GBS to ensure a strong control environment and full compliance with ADM policies and local regulations.
• Lead the annual and five-year strategic planning cycle, including operating plans, capital allocation, and financial projections.
  • • • Partner with business leaders to identify risks and opportunities, translating strategy into actionable financial plans.
      • Ensure clear linkage between financial results, operational KPIs, and business unit performance.
      • Serve on EMEA Carbs Joint Venture Boards, providing financial oversight and strategic input.

 
Educational and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics or Business Administration; MBA preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of senior finance experience within large multinational organizations, closely connected to operations, manufacturing, logistics, and distribution.
• Strong international experience; exposure to sugar, sweeteners and starch, nutrition and/or food processing businesses preferred.
• Proven experience in fast-paced, growth-oriented environments with competing priorities.
• Demonstrated success leading transformation, driving continuous improvement, and delivering results under pressure.
• Strong problem solving skills with a proactive and pragmatic approach; willingness to roll-up sleeves and make things happen; 
• Effective oral and written communication skills as well as ability to work with various levels of office and operational contacts; 
• Positive, ‘can do’ hands on attitude with good collaboration, influencing and stakeholder management skills;
