Job Status: Seasonal

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Compensation: Proposed hiring rate of $18.00 to $19.80+, actual pay will be adjusted based on experience. 

  • Benefits: This is a seasonal position eligible for season pass for employees/dependents and privileges at several other resorts. Several discount programs (i.e. food & beverage, retail/rental, tickets, etc.) also available.  

Job Summary:

The Youth Ski and Ride School Support staff members are responsible for the daily operations inside the Schoolhouse. This includes but is not limited to: Greeting and communicating with youth SRS guests, assisting instructors and supervisors, running the Schoolhouse TLC room, acting as a communication hub for instructors and supervisors, assisting SRS students who need a break from their class (sick, sad, tired, etc.) answering guest questions, maintaining cleanliness, coordination and, and filing SRS paperwork. The SRS Indoor Staff will also coordinate, assign, and collect the FLAIK GPS units to and from guests on a daily basis.   

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops a rapport with students/staff quickly, establishing a connection with the student(s) almost immediately. Making each guest feel special and unique. Provide a safe, fun, and learning experience to the guest.  

  • Engages the guest 100% of the time, while still focusing on individual and unique student needs. Goes above and beyond expectations to have a positive impact on each student.  

  • Has a serious focus on safety and whereabouts of all students.  

  • Models the values, philosophy, and mission statement of Copper Mountain Resort; strives to create the best memories for the guest again and again.  

  • Acts as a real team member, cooperating with all employees, including fellow SRS instructors, supervisors, and employees from all other departments.  

  • Responds quickly and effectively to a wide variety of situations including possible emergencies while maintaining composure and keeping students and fellow employees calm.  

  • Manages personal stress levels, and is able to maintain balance between work and personal life.  

  • When working with children: Supervising children that are indoors at all times; assisting at lunch and snack times; ensuring return of children to identified guardian.  

  • Assisting in operational responsibilities of Ski & Ride programming including but not limited to registration process, directing guests to appropriate equipment fitting source, upkeep of outdoor teaching areas, assisting classes in carpet areas, setting up outdoor animation and cleanliness of facilities. 

  • Actions are in accordance with Copper Mountain Resort’s Standards of Business Conduct
