Job Description:

Note: Candidates must be available for shifts beginning as early as 3:30pm, Tuesday through Saturday.

As a server at Next Door by Wegmans, your role is to deliver outstanding service by sharing your in-depth knowledge of our menu and beverages. By utilizing suggestive selling techniques, you’ll help guests select the perfect items to enhance their dining experience. You’ll also support overall restaurant operations by demonstrating genuine hospitality, exceptional people skills, and mastery of food and beverage service techniques. Your goal: to create a one-of-a-kind dining experience that keeps guests coming back.

What will I do?

• Provide incredible customer service by creating a positive and energetic atmosphere at every table, serving guests in a courteous, hospitable, attentive and efficient manner when maintaining tables, placing orders and collecting payments
• Build rapport with guests by maintaining their tables to ensure they are receiving the best possible service and experience
• Thoroughly understand the menu and beverage offerings; utilize suggestive selling techniques to creates interest and enthusiasm for our offerings
• Study menu changes and attend beverage classes whenever possible to continue to grow food and beverage knowledge
• Prepare the dining room and bars for service with exceptional attention to detail; ensure all areas are clean/sanitized, organized and well-stocked
• Learn about special events and general restaurant operations to provide support and perform additional tasks as needed

Required Qualifications

• 2 or more years of experience working in a multi-faceted food service facility, including restaurant, hotel, or country club
• Enthusiasm for and knowledge of relevant products and services

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with MICROS or other POS systems

This is a tipped position. Pay is the NYS minimum for tipped employees ($10.35/hr. plus $5.15/hr. tip credit when applicable) plus tips.
