Description

Salary is Non-Negotiable. The successful candidate will be hired at the minimum salary.

This is professional and administrative work in the planning, oversight, and coordination of new courthouse construction, and renovation projects within the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC), Court Facilities Management Division. An employee in this class is responsible for assisting the Director maintain project information and files, coordinate and monitor the work of contractors, county agencies, and architects engaged in the design and construction of a variety of courthouse construction and renovation projects.  Responsibilities include monthly inspection of existing courthouses to assess the need for repairs or improvements; maintain inventory of courthouse spaces and tenants; management of several projects simultaneously in various phases of development, attend project meetings, obtain cost estimates, and review project materials, drawings, specifications, revisions, and other pertinent documentation to ensure compliance with court requirements and schedules.  Incumbents exercise independent judgement in the application of the principle and practices of architectural planning, design, and construction, and in the administration of assigned construction and renovation projects.  General supervision is received from a senior level administrator who reviews work through personal conferences and reports for satisfactory attainment of goals and objectives.  

This position is eligible for a hybrid remote work/onsite schedule after a 90-day period, as outlined by existing Circuit policies and procedures.


 

Responsibilities

 

  • Coordinates and oversees carpet replacement and paint projects for the Circuit. Prepares and processes Request for Purchase Authorization (RPA); coordinates schedule; inspects final product, reviews invoices for compliance, and submits to Director for payment approval. Maintains log of prioritized work needed pending availability of funds.
  • Assists Director in the review of plans, designs, specifications, contract documents, and final working drawings of courthouse projects.
  • Assists Director by attending pre-construction meetings with contractors; monitors contractor’s performance to ensure compliance with regulations and procedures, and monitors correction of defects by contractor during warranty period.
  • Investigates indoor air quality issues. Coordinates assessments with vendor, reviews invoices for compliance, submits to Director for payment approval, and processes invoices for payment.
  • Conducts monthly physical survey of courthouses to assess the need for repairs or improvements. Gathers information on courthouse needs from Administrative Judges and AOC Operations Division Directors. Meets with building managers to discuss existing or upcoming projects. Follows-up on courthouse repairs or improvements.
  • Conducts and maintains inventory of space allocated to Court Divisions/Departments and allocated to the various agencies housed at each court facility.
  • Assists the Director in formulating and establishing goals, standards, operating procedures, and needs of the Division and formulating long and short-term planning.
  • Assists with the operations of the Security Division when Security Manager is not available, including coordinating with Miami-Dade Police Department, Court Services Bureau for additional officers when required. Coordinates with the Miami-Dade County Internal Services Department regarding the assignment of contracted security guards as needed.
  • Assists with the oversight of the Courier Unit when the Security Manager is not available; this includes arranging and tracking special deliveries and monitoring staff attendance.
  • Performs related work as required.

  • Graduation from a four-year college or university with major course work in architecture, engineering, construction management, or related field.
