Job Description Summary:

Provides support to the Vet Tech program. In charge of feeding cattle in a limited area, herding cattle between lots, landscaping, providing cattle with hay/water, and mowing pasture and dog yard.

Job Description:

Description of Duties and Tasks

• Feeding cattle

• Herding cattle between two lots

• Maintaining pasture and yard

Knowledge

• Basic cattle care

• Animal behavior

• Safe operation of tractor

• Safe operation of lawn mower

• Basic machinery maintenance

Skills

• Customer service focused; communicating with companies to order and deliver hay, as well as other needs of the cattle.

• Basic cattle care experience in areas such as feeding, herding at a short distance between two pastures.

• Identifying and providing important information regarding the needs of the cattle.

• Identifying and providing care of machinery used.

Technology Skills

• Basic computer skills

Physical Requirements

• Work is performed on a 14-acre pasture and a small animal yard.

• Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting and operating heavy and small machinery.

• Frequent lifting of objects up to 50 pounds.

Safety

• Work safely and follow safety rules. Report unsafe working conditions and behavior. Take reasonable and prudent actions to prevent others from engaging in unsafe practices. Using eye protection as needed.
