Travel:  Up to 25% - 40% to STERIS Applied Sterilization Technologies locations

 

Location:  Home based near a major airport; preferably near a STERIS location in Chicago, IL Dallas, TX or Charlotte, NC or Spartanburg, SC.

What You Will Do:

 

  • Plans, organizes, and supports executes of technical projects.
  • Conceives, plans, and conducts process equipment evaluations and upgrades.
  • Evaluates, tests, and prepares technical analysis and implementation plans for equipment and system improvements.
  • Assists with the coordination or directs engineering/facility projects through resolution of operational problems implementing and overseeing testing, reviewing design and safety issues, and overseeing contracted resources.
  • Obtains information for the design/development of components, assemblies and other operating equipment through manufacturer’s information, technology, and contractors.

 

 

What You Will Need to Be Successful

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering. 
  • Minimum 2- 5 years of experience contributing to system design work or working with project teams.  
  • Requires ability to read, interpret and practically apply mechanical drawings,  process drawing, P & IDs (Process and Instrumentation Drawing).
  • Understanding of process equipment such as HVAC, pumps, fans, chillers, process piping, vacuum pumps, boilers, and heat exchangers.  
  • Effective verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently under general guidelines and supervision.
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications; knowledge of MS Project and AutoCAD or other similar software programs.     
  • Ability to contribute to failure investigations and process improvement initiatives. 
  • Must be adaptable to changing duties and responsibilities.
  • Able to evaluate issues and communicate recommendations.
  • Desire and ability to learn new systems and equipment to expand systems knowledge.     
  • Must be able to travel domestically, 25% - 40%, as needed.

 Pay range for this opportunity is $77,800 to $104,727. This position is eligible for a target bonus calculated on individual and company performance.   

 

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.  Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.

Full-Time Employees are also eligible for short-term disability.  Full-time Employees will also receive Paid Time Off (PTO) based on years of service and paid Holidays. Part-time employees working 20 or more hours receive a pro-ration of the full-time PTO allocation and paid Holidays based on their standard hourly work week. Full-Time employees are eligible for four weeks of paid parental leave. Part-time employees also receive paid parental leave, pro-rated based on their standard hourly work week.
