Department

8481 ISS Technical Services

Administers changes and repairs to critical technology assets that include but not limited to; Servers, Databases, Infrastructure Security, Data and Telephone network, Data Storage and Backup processes. Works independently addressing incoming tasks associated with these technologies. Provides Tier 2 support escalating to Tier 3 when needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

License /Certification

Required: CCENT, MCP: Server, MCP: Database, or Comptia Security+ within one year of hire/transfer.

Preferred: ITIL V3

Education

Required: High School Diploma

Preferred: Associate’s degree

Experience

Required:

Two years of either Server, Network, or Database administration; or

One year of either Server, Network, or Database administration with an Associate's degree in an Information Technology related field.

Preferred: Three years of either Server, Network, or Database administration; or Two years of either Server, Network, or Database administration with an Associate's degree in an Information Technology related field.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Knowledge of TCP /IP, DNS, WINS, and DHCP.

Knowledge of MS Active Directory.

Understanding of AV technologies and experience of their administration.

Ability to escalate and involve other resources as required to deliver/ support SLA’s, business requirements.

Ability to regularly demonstrate respect and tolerance for others with less knowledge and/or skills.

Excellent communication skills and must be a team player.

Ability to train, explain and impart knowledge to others.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Manages and performs operating systems, database and network patching. Certifies patches for compatibility with existing infrastructure. Creates virtual machines to pre approved specifications and builds. Manages group drives and shares. Monitors network, server and storage activity. Works closely with senior administrators and management. Performs Microsoft Server patching as approved. Monitors Server, Network and Backup results daily. Applies changes to Active Directory polices, permissions. Troubleshoots and addresses AntiVirus related isues. Performs Database patching and monitoring. Performs limited networking administration and physical management of switching, DNS. Administration of backup and restore functions. Testing of backup sets. Responsible for maintaining and clearing Tier 2 activity task assignments. Builds Virtual server and desktop instances. Performs laptop encryption troubleshooting and configuration. Analyzes, troubleshoots, and resolves email related issues related to spam, spam filtering, whitelist, and blacklist. Performs on-call duties on a rotational basis to provide the hospital with 24 x 7 technical support.

Pay Range

$31.38 -$47.07
