The Role at a Glance
We are excited to bring on a Financial Reporting Specialist for a fully remote position. In this role you will be responsible for preparing, analyzing, and reporting on activities associated with accounting principles and standards, and financial statements. This position will perform and deliver on routine assignments/projects while simultaneously leveraging and applying knowledge of assigned area(s) of Financial Reporting responsibility.
General Purpose of Job
This position will perform and deliver on routine assignments/projects while simultaneously leveraging and applying knowledge of their assigned area(s) of Financial Reporting responsibility. They will be responsible for preparing, analyzing and reporting on activities associated with accounting principles and standards, and financial statements.What you'll be doing
• Preparing, reviewing, and filing quarterly and annual SEC and other regulatory filings.
• Preparing, analyzing, and reporting on financial statements and supporting schedules according to the accounting and reporting calendars.
• Performing and delivering on routine assignments/projects while simultaneously leveraging and applying knowledge of your assigned area(s) of responsibility.
• Participating in accounting close including the preparation of external debt journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Supporting Treasury and Legal on external debt transactions and other strategic transactions.
• Preparing and/or reconciling other financial data for Investor Relations.
• Preparing and/or reviewing internal management reporting.
• Conducting financial analysis on consolidated and business unit results, including providing ongoing support for the business unit teams and our various other partners as needed.
• Reviewing and analyzing quarterly and annual SEC filings, financial statements, and other financial data for press releases.
• Identifying and communicating to management process improvements that reduce workloads or improve quality.
• Promoting and enhancing organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives.
• Providing support with the coordination of SOX and regulatory testing to comply with key controls developed for the group.
• Identifying and researching reporting issues arising from application of accounting principles and standards and rules and regulations of the SEC and other regulators and assessing their applicability.
• Maintaining knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends, assessing the impact, and collaborating with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.
What we’re looking for
Must-Haves:
• Undergraduate degree and 1 - 3+ years of comparable work experience; educational concentration in Accounting or relevant field.
• Current CPA or showing progress towards the CPA.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to perform under stress in cases of emergency or critical situations.
• Ability to work with others in a team environment.
• Ability to identify and recommend processes improvements.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to use sound judgment and discretion regarding confidential information.
Nice-To-Haves:
• 1 - 3+ years of experience in Financial Reporting OR Public Accounting that directly aligns with specific responsibilities of position.
• Master’s degree in Accounting.
• Familiarity with Hyperion Essbase and PeopleSoft general ledger.
