The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking a Student Engineering Assistant to aid our engineering team in developing advanced software technologies for customers. Typical tasks would involve data processing, target tracking, sensor interfacing and management, and data visualization. You can work a flexible schedule during school semesters, up to 20 hours per week as available, and full-time during summer breaks. Work will be performed at SDL campus in North Logan, UT.

 Required Qualifications:

  • Must be currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • Must be a student currently enrolled at USU with at least one year of USU course work remaining
  • Must be able to work 15-20 hours per week during school semesters and up to 40 hours per week during school breaks (hours would be M-F between 8:00am-5:00pm)
  • Strong computer programming skills
  • Fundamental understanding of linear algebra
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and with a team
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must be a US citizen and be able to obtain a US Government security clearance
 Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience programming in C++
  • Understanding of Statistics/Probability
  • Experience using Linux
