Sr. Director, Renewable Origination

Job Summary

The Sr. Director, Renewable Origination is responsible for developing, marketing, structuring, negotiating and closing wholesale renewable power and battery energy storage system (BESS) transaction opportunities across all markets where Vistra operates. Customers include utilities, industrials, municipalities, electric co-ops, commercial end-users, and wholesale trading counterparties.

Key Accountabilities

·Work with Vistra Development team to create and execute origination strategy to identify and close power purchase agreement (PPA) opportunities across the Vistra renewable footprint·Build and maintain collaborative relationships with key customers, specifically including commercial end-users·Engage in industry conferences, events, and associations to enhance Vistra’s visibility, while remaining informed about industry trends and best practices·Utilize expert knowledge in power marketing, commodity transaction structuring, and negotiation/contracting to meet/exceed profit and strategic objectives of Vistra Corp·Act as project manager with internal departments involved in large scale transactions including structuring, pricing desk, risk, credit, legal, and accounting to quantify/price complex custom deal structures.

Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements

·10+ years of experience in developing, structuring and closing power purchase agreements (PPA’s), preferably in the CAISO, ERCOT, MISO and/or PJM regions·Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required to effectively function in a team environment·Proven ability to apply expert business and analytical skills to capture major deals·High school diploma or equivalent ·Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications is applicable to above skills
