Position Summary
CVS Health is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to partner with Trade leaders to solve complex business problems using data, analytics, and quantitative decision-making, with a strong focus on building and productionizing Agentic AI solutions. This is a highly consultative role focused on translating ambiguous business questions into analytical frameworks, developing AI-powered tools and workflows, and influencing strategic and operational decisions.
The Senior Data Scientist will serve as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders, combining hands-on AI engineering skills, strong statistical reasoning, business acumen, and structured problem-solving to identify and act on trade insights. This role emphasizes designing and deploying Agentic AI solutions via APIs, rapid hypothesis generation, statistical analysis, experimentation, forecasting, and communicating clear recommendations that drive measurable business outcomes.
The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, thrives in ambiguous environments, and enjoys working directly with business leaders and building production-grade AI products that solve high-impact operational challenges across CVS Enterprise.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in analytics, data science, management consulting, business analytics, operations research, or a related quantitative field
- Hands-on experience designing, building, and deploying Agentic AI solutions, including productionizing models and workflows via APIs
- Demonstrated experience solving complex business problems using statistical analysis and data-driven decision making
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to structure ambiguous problems into actionable analytical approaches
- Experience conducting statistical analyses such as hypothesis testing, regression, forecasting, segmentation, and experimental design
- Proficiency in SQL and Python, including experience building and integrating APIs to deploy data and AI products into production
- Ability to synthesize large datasets into concise, actionable insights for business and executive audiences
- Strong communication, storytelling, and presentation skills with experience influencing cross-functional stakeholders
- Experience partnering directly with business leaders to prioritize opportunities and develop data-informed recommendations
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment
- Hands-on exposure to generative AI, agentic frameworks, or intelligent analytics platforms, with the ability to apply them to real business problems
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in management consulting or internal strategy and analytics organizations
- Experience supporting healthcare, pharma, pharmacy, specialty pharmacy, payer, or healthcare operations
- Knowledge of operational performance metrics, process optimization, workforce analytics, or service operations
- Experience designing and evaluating business experiments (A/B testing, pilot evaluations, quasi-experimental analyses)
- Familiarity with predictive modeling and machine learning techniques, with the ability to determine when these methods are appropriate for business problems
- Experience with LLM/agentic AI frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex) and deploying models via cloud or API-based architectures
- Experience developing executive presentations and facilitating discussions with senior leadership
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related quantitative field required
- Master's degree in a quantitative discipline preferred
