Job Summary

Comcast is at the nexus of wired and wireless broadband connectivity, video and IP convergence, and application and platform development with a portfolio of market-ready products and services that make it easier for people to connect to the services they want, wherever they are, and on every device. The Fellow will work during regular business hours of Comcast's legal department to gain substantive in-house experience in corporate practice. They will support a variety of substantive legal areas within the legal department including Corporate Transactions, Commercial Transactions, Commercial Litigation, IP Transactions and Litigation, Product Counseling, Regulatory Compliance and Employment. To be successful, this individual must proactively and creatively address the needs of various legal groups. The Fellow will have dedicated supervisor responsible for coordinating their work assignments. In addition to his or her job as Fellow, the student would participate in various training seminars through including learning modules, workshops, panels, networking events and pro bono services.

THIS INTERNSHIP IS FOR THE PHILADELPHIA DIVERSITY LAW GROUP (“PDLG”) FELLOWS PROGRAM.

This job code is to be used for internships and co-ops. It is not to be used for temporary or contract workers.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Assisting in drafting of legal documents

  • Participating in internal meetings, meetings with outside counsel, opposing counsel, regulatory bodies

  • Researching legal questions and drafting memos

  • Identify opportunities for internal process improvements

  • Support other special projects or assignments as assigned

  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and enrollment in law school required
  • Fellow must be nominated by PDLG.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • Prior experience working for or with attorneys a plus.
  • Experience with the preparation of presentations/slide decks, metrics, and written reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze facts and identify issues, collect data/evidence, and draw valid conclusions.

Compensation

  • $45/hr 

Compensation

Base Pay: $45.00
