We are seeking to welcome a new team member to the Pipeline Operations Team at the CX & TCPL Pipelines, located near our Calcasieu Pass LNG location for the role of CX-TCPL Pipeline Operations Manager. The ideal candidate will be a team-oriented technical professional with management experience and expertise with pipeline systems in the LNG or natural gas industry. This person will have experience working in both an office and field/site environment. This person will be able to provide operational leadership, project management and personnel management.
The CX-TCPL Pipeline OperationsManager will work alongside the VG CP1 & CP2 LNG Operations teams, and will provide assurance that the CX & TCPL Pipelines are well maintained and operable at all times.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the CX-TCPL Pipeline Operations Team operations and personnel.
- Ensure the VG Transmission Pipeline O&M Manual and its programs are applied on the CX and TCPL pipeline assets.
- Support and management of regulatory compliance for pipeline assets, including assistance with site audits and field visits and support for PHMSA and FERC visits and/or data request.
- Manage CX-TCPL pipeline operations interfaces with other VG pipeline groups and VG projects. Coordinate VG resources and contractors as required.
- Provide guidance for pipeline operations planning and execution. Own and manage the CX-TCPL Compliance Schedule for all pipeline field activity.
- Prepare and manage CX-TCPL pipeline OPEX budget, including detailed cost planning for major brownfield events.
- Ensure VG HSSE programs are effectively implemented on the CX-TCPL pipeline.
- Ensure Pipeline personnel have necessary training and qualifications to support CX-TCPL operational needs.
- Develop, implement and maintain the CX-TCPL Pipeline Integrity Program.
- Monitor performance against the program with metrics and historical data.
- Ensure consistency with other VG pipeline assets.
- Identify and implement and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Provide technical leadership for operation of gas compression assets. Develop, implement and maintain procedures and standards related to gas compression technology on pipeline assets.
- Participate in asset decision making by producing & communicating metrics-based risk analysis.
- Prepare reports and lead presentations related to pipeline operations activity and performance.
- Review and comment on Engineering deliverables, plans and procedures including pipeline, Meter Stations, compressor stations and other related infrastructure.
- Manage activity related to external public pipeline interfaces such as LA811 One-Calls, public awareness requirements, etc. Utilize VG Pipeline Operations personnel to carry out all work required.
- Manage technical interfaces with pipeline gas suppliers. Prepare maintenance plans, coordinate shared facility activity, liaise with VG Gas Supply team to identify upstream impacts to VG assets.
- Assist corporate management in defining & building pipeline team roles & responsibilities.
- Assist corporate management in redefining cross-asset interfaces & retooling organization for continued growth.
- Periodic regional travel between VG offices and sites will be required. Travel between end-to-end portions of the CX-TCPL pipeline asset will be considered a regular activity.
- Work sites may require movement on and around elevated and marine based structures, including road and marine craft transport along the ROW.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or commensurate work experience.
- Must be able to demonstrate leadership skills and an aptitude for team building.
- Must have or be able to obtain a TWIC.
- 5 or more years of natural gas pipeline industry experience preferred, with demonstrable experience in Project Engineering or Construction Management.
- Working knowledge of gas compression technology, including general construction, commissioning and operational practices.
- Knowledge of applicable natural gas industry construction practices, PHMSA, FERC and agency requirements.
