The Role

Quick Take

The Director, IT Infrastructure plans, manages and implements all areas of the IT Infrastructure for Apex Analytix.  The position includes the management of the Infrastructure team as well as overall responsibility for information security across the company. 

The Work

• Develop and implement the overall strategy for all aspects of our data centers and infrastructure.
• Day-to-day management of corporate infrastructure across the Greensboro, Suwanee, and other data center locations
• Develop and implement business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
• Design and implement all aspects of the corporate network.
• Responsible for managing product security of all the IT products
• Ensure effective management and availability of corporate production, staging and development infrastructure.
• Plan and manage the corporate telecommunications infrastructure.
• Serve as liaison between the IT Infrastructure team and operational departments across the company.
• Manage software licenses on a company-wide basis.
• Responsible for managing the IT budget
• Lead, plan, manage and motivate employees
• Responsible for the overall security of systems they will be administering, including protecting client data and reporting situations that may provide unintentional elevated access. 
• Working experience with Kubernetes infrastructure
• Managing enterprise support team
• Working experience in managing CloudStack infrastructure would be preferred.

The Must-Haves

Knowledge Components:

• Working knowledge of Office 365, Windows, Physical Servers and Active Directory.  
• Understanding of Networking, including Routers, Switches, Firewall Rules etc
• Working Knowledge of Virtualization Solutions and Technology    
• Strong Working Knowledge of MS Azure
• Strong mindset towards IT security practices and standards
• Open mindset toward learning new technologies
• Strong team player with an accountability and growth mindset, focused on deliveries.
• Knowledge in the following areas:
• Bandwidth Management Technology
• Cloud Computing and Storage Technology
• Desktop Virtualization Technology
• VPN, SSLVPN, SIP Trunks

Experience (Years and types):

• A minimum of 8 years of hands-on infrastructure engineering experience.
• Proven experience in managing a complex infrastructure environment and staff.
• Hands-on Leader who can get his hands dirty and assist the team when required.

Education Levels/Credentials (Degree types and Emphasis):

• BS/BA degree in computer science or related field
