Field Sales Representative - Solar Energy

The objectives of a Field Sales Representative are to acquire new customers, manage new sales opportunities in assigned region(s), and grow the Fronius market shares sustainably. This individual collaborates with the salesforce of our partners to pursue opportunities to increase sales. The Field Sales Representative supports installers with Fronius Solar Energy solutions based on a customer’s specific needs which are identified via consultative selling methods. To be successful in this position you must possess excellent communication skills, be highly organized, and achieve Fronius Solar Energy strategic sales goals. The Field Sale Representative reports to the Director of Sales & Marketing Business Unit Solar Energy.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Manage complex sales opportunities by assessing the customers’ technology needs, identifying pain-points, and providing the best Fronius design solution for solar installers.
- Establish new prospects through trade shows, customer visits, inbound leads, and other interactions.
- Research prospects and opportunities to determine potential sales and fit to our product lines and services.
- Work closely with the salesforce of our partners to develop and pursue opportunities.
- Work directly with solar installers within the assigned region/s to help strategically identify needs and present optimal solutions.
- Demonstrate and endorse Fronius’ technical solutions and capabilities to customers during meetings and presentations.
- Collaborate with internal teams to provide customers with the most valuable solutions to meet their specific needs.
- Develop reports of account overviews/organization models. Position as a key partner for business and future projects.
- Support and develop Fronius Solutions Providers through a consultative sales approach.
- Meet and/or exceed annual sales goals while remaining within expense budget guidelines.
- Provide continuous feedback regarding products, features, prices, customer feedback, competitors, and market trends, etc. to both Management and Product Management.
- Utilize and update the CRM system. Keep accurate records of sales opportunities, customer contacts, and account information.
- Monitor customers and markets for potential shortcomings in the product portfolio and communicate these to national Solutions Management.
- Promote Fronius’ vision of 24 Hours of Sun and foster long-term partnerships with solar installers.
- Represent Fronius Way in a professional manner and uphold the Fronius Way Philosophy.
Requirements
- Possess a valid passport, or have the ability to obtain and pay for a valid passport
- Authorized to work and travel in the US and internationally
- Possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle license
- Regular Travel Required
- Comfortable interacting with multiple stakeholders from different departments, including sales, technical and operations
- Geographically located in, or able to relocate within, the appropriate sales territory
- Work effectively under pressure while maintaining enthusiasm and professionalism
- Proactive with effective customer presentation skills
- Team player with a high degree of self-direction, initiative, and motivation
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Education/Experience
- Associate degree in Business Administration or a business-related field from an Accredited University or College preferred
- Minimum of 3+ years in a sales environment; Solar industry preferred
- 2+ years of Solar installation or technical experience desirable
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, spreadsheets, databases, and word processing
- Professional training in consultative sales techniques desirable
- Experience in Microsoft Dynamics CRM database preferred

- Ability to bend and reach with repetitive motion

- Vision 20/20 with or without correction
- Ability to lift and carry 70 lbs.
- Physical demands of the job include standing, use of hands to manipulate objects, talking, hearing, looking, typing, walking, twisting, and bending
- Employees could be requested to lift, carry, reach above the shoulder, stoop, squat, kneel, and crouch
- Employees will perform duties in an office environment and a field setting
- Employees will be occasionally exposed to tripping hazards
- The noise level in the work environment is usually low to medium
