Materials Analyst

 

About our Location:

Our Seward, Nebraska facility is a key part of Tenneco’s Clean Air business, producing emissions control components that help power cleaner, more efficient vehicles. With over 300 employees on-site, we deliver high-quality manufacturing and support services and are committed to people, safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

 

About the Position:

The Materials Analyst is responsible for ensuring uninterrupted material flow to support manufacturing operations while optimizing inventory investment and supplier performance. This role balances service, cost, and inventory by aligning procurement activities with production demand, managing supplier relationships, and maintaining accurate system planning parameters.

 

The position plays a critical role in supporting operational stability, Continuous Improvement, and on-time delivery to customers by ensuring the right material is available at the right time, in the right quantity, at the lowest total cost.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze SAP signals to determine material requirements, ensuring production schedules are supported and downtime is avoided
  • Issue and manage purchase orders, including confirmations and expedites, to maintain consistent and reliable material flow
  • Monitor inventory levels and planning parameters to balance service levels with cost and prevent excess or obsolete inventory
  • Manage supplier performance and communication to ensure on-time delivery and quickly resolve supply issues
  • Proactively identify material shortages and supply risks to prevent disruptions and maintain operational continuity
  • Maintain accurate planning and purchasing data in SAP to ensure reliable system signals and effective decision-making
  • Coordinate shipments and logistics to meet customer demand and ensure on-time, in-full delivery performance
  • Partner with Production, Scheduling, and Operations to align material availability with build plans and plant priorities
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inventory turns, planning accuracy, and overall supply chain performance
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership
