Job Description

This position will reside on the Operational Excellence (OE) Team in Cash Customer Operations (CCO). The team will report to the OE Control Testing Manager. Within the Operational Excellence Team, this role will support the First Line of Defense (FLOD)  control testing framework training, template design, testing plan and execution, ongoing control observations,  testing and reporting.

Responsibilities   

  • Engage with FLOD business units to execute testing of identified controls. 

  • Development and memorialize control testing documentation, ensure compliance with operational, regulatory and CCO guidelines, policies and procedures.

  • Analyze, aggregate, and articulate the results/issues/recommendations related to control testing to leadership.

  • Work cross-functionally with Issue Management and Risk Management to identify failed controls

  • Assist with the validation and closure of control issues identified through testing.

  • Build and maintain a strong working relationship and partnership with all CCO business teams (including international teams), other testing teams (i.e. second line - Compliance) and third line Audit functions.

  • When applicable engage with second line of defense (SLOD) testing (e.g. Compliance) to leverage testing results

  • Assist with recording and maintaining records in the GRC tool

  • Contribute to ad-hoc tasks, and projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience working on a team in controls testing, internal audit or other complimentary capacities (i.e. Risk Management, Compliance) preferably within the financial services industry.

  • In-depth experience designing, planning, and executing a testing framework that includes identification, communication, reporting, validation, and escalation of test results and remediation.

  • Experience working with GRC Tools, data gathering, processing and preparation

  • Strong understanding of the regulatory environment and regulations related to risk management. 

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills that drive actionable results.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and comfortably with all levels of management.

  • Ability to partner effectively across all levels of the organization, and develop positive work relationships.

  • Ability to work with team members with various levels of experience, fostering a collaborative, highly effective and productive team environment.

Additional Information

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $101,500 - USD $152,300
Zone B: USD $94,400 - USD $141,600
Zone C: USD $86,300 - USD $129,500
Zone D: USD $76,200 - USD $114,200
