Alpha Testing, LLC (ALPHA) has an opening in our Dallas Office Environmental Department for an Environmental Scientist. As an Environmental Scientist, you will be responsible for overall project management of Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, which may include various types of properties such as undeveloped land, agricultural, residential, multi-family, retail, and commercial/industrial. The Environmental Scientist will be responsible for evaluating historical and regulatory sources, conducting site reconnaissance, owner representative interviews, subcontractor tasks, and compiling written reports for submittal to clients. The ideal candidate is a reliable, trustworthy individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment where collaboration and autonomy are valued.  This position will be expected to report to the office daily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Conducts Phase I Environmental Site Assessment projects in general accordance with ASTM E 1527-21 standardsReviews and assesses site plans/surveys, maps, geologic data and hydrological characteristics, aerial photographs, topographic maps, city directories, other historical information, prior reports, analytical data, regulatory agency informationMeets project budgets and schedulesEnsures that project deliverables meet quality standards and that project outcomes meet the client’s expectationsSolves problems effectively as they arise during the project lifecycleAnswers client questions and assists them promptlyOrganizes client-provided documents and files for tracking and operations purposesCommunicates with clients and owner representativesSchedules project site visits and other necessary field workOperates a computer proficientlyHandles special client requests regarding specific report format and billing requirementsFollows safety proceduresCompletes other duties as may be assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Valid driver's license with acceptable driving recordAbility to pass a background check and drug screeningBachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in Environmental Science, Geology, Biology, Engineering, or a similar majorHighly organized and able to multi-taskSelf-driven and dynamic in a team environmentGood verbal and written communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office and project management softwareAbility to read and write, including interpreting documents as well as writing routine reports and correspondence and speaking effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and customers/clientsAbility to function in a high-stress environment Reasoning ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram form
