The Role

We are seeking a Senior Research Associate, Molecular Biology to join us in building a novel discovery and development platform for noncanonical viral vector-based programmable medicines. This is a rare and unique opportunity to be one of the first employees of a cutting-edge biotech startup. This candidate will be responsible for driving forward research and experimental work in and outside of the lab to generate decisive data packages that advance the company and platform development.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive scientific and R&D efforts by designing and conducting experiments alongside Scientists.
• Support the implementation of novel research assays, tools, and operational tasks in and out of the lab.
• Support in preparation of decision-enabling research data packages to leadership team.

Basic Qualifications

• B.Sc or M.Sc. in molecular biology, biochemistry, virology, or related field.
• 1-2 years of industry experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical companies, with a preference for past experience working on recombinant protein/biologics production, gene therapy, or AAV-based therapeutics.
• Deep laboratory and technical expertise in:
• RNA design, in vitro synthesis, purification, characterization, quality control, and transfection/transduction. 
• Bacterial culture and molecular cloning.
• Recombinant protein expression in bacteria, yeast, or other system, in vitro assembly, isolation/purification (e.g., His-tag approach), and quality control.
• Virus-like particle (VLP), viral capsid, and/or nanoparticle experience is preferred.
