Industrial Cook-2nd shift(12:00pm-8:00pm)

SUMMARY

Prepares and cooks required product for production and properly stores and secures all product and materials at end of shift.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Read and Perform Authorized LOTO as outlined for equipment.
• Operate in a safe manner.
• Weigh and mix ingredients prior to production ensuring they will be available in a timely manner.
• Ensure appropriate number of batches are made and recorded
• Combine and cook ingredients according to preset recipes using large batch size and industrial kitchen equipment.
• Communicate and work with Quality Control personnel to ensure all proper standards are met.
• Communicate daily with Production shift supervisors regarding changes, add-ins, deletions from standard procedures, or other issues in your area,
• Safely operate and be qualified on forklifts.
• Understand allergens and cross-contamination issues.
• Proficient in inventory control and the use of scanners.
• Maintain the total operation of one deck area during production.
• Ensure product specifications, label verification, and any other quality measures are in compliance.
• Comply with all company policies and programs.
• Complete all other assigned duties as required.
• Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed.
• Ensure sure all housekeeping, environmental, and GMPs are maintained and adhered to.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Able to receive and maintain certification on industrial lift trucks

LANGUAGE SKILLS Must be able to speak English and write English and effectively communicate with fellow employees, supervisors, and Quality Control.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Must be able to take measurements in weights. Must be able to work in fractions, and decimals (standard and metric).

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to observe ingredients being batched to determine if valves and meter are working correctly. Must be able to understand weights and measures and follow written instructions accurately. Ability needed to adhere to techniques and proper housekeeping.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Long hours involving extended standing, walking and sitting..

• Ability to perform moderate physical work, exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 30 lbs. frequently, and up to 20 lbs. constantly, performing such activities as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, feeling, lifting, and grasping.
• Works in normal manufacturing environment. Potential exposure to equipment movement hazards and dangerous chemicals/s
