Job Purpose:

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Solutions Architect to lead cloud migration, modernization, and multi-cloud architecture initiatives. This role requires a deep technical background in cloud computing—primarily AWS—and experience working with clients to solve complex business and technical challenges. As a strategic contributor, you will help guide architectural decisions, enable cloud adoption, and build scalable, secure, and performance-optimized solutions.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver scalable, secure, and resilient cloud architectures tailored to client business needs, focusing on AWS and multi-cloud environments.
• Act as a subject matter expert in AWS, offering technical support to clients facing complex infrastructure or cloud migration challenges.
• Spearhead large-scale initiatives that promote AWS and multi-cloud migration best practices across diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Leverage extensive experience across cloud domains including DevOps, serverless, containers, networking, databases (SQL and NoSQL), security, CI/CD, and application development.
• Conduct thorough assessments of existing systems to identify modernization, optimization, and re-platforming opportunities.
• Provide guidance to state agencies and stakeholders in optimizing cloud-based applications for performance and cost efficiency.
• Assist in establishing architectural standards and contribute to the development of best practices.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, from software developers to senior technical leaders.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of cloud trends, emerging technologies, and industry standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 10 years of total IT experience, including a minimum of 5 years in enterprise-level architecture within software development or IT services.
• 5–8 years of hands-on experience in application architecture, cloud-native app development, and modernization projects.
• Proven track record of leading consultative and complex technical deployments, with stakeholder engagement and consensus-building experience.
• Deep expertise in building and deploying cloud-based applications.
• Strong grasp of enterprise architecture frameworks and IT domains such as infrastructure, data, applications, and security.
• Familiar with regulatory compliance and governance in cloud environments.
• Skilled in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Experience designing highly available and fault-tolerant systems using load balancing and auto-scaling techniques.
• Familiarity with modern technologies including microservices, DevOps, and containerization.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, collaborate effectively, and maintain high levels of productivity in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional)
• Hands-on experience with other cloud platforms like Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
• Prior experience working with state or local government organizations
• Expertise in enterprise systems integration
• Familiarity with RDBMS technologies such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or Microsoft SQL Server
• Knowledge of programming languages and protocols including Java, Python, REST, SOAP, HTTP/S, and FTP
• Experience working with AI-based chatbot development is a plus
• Understanding of integration standards and cloud solution best practices
