San Diego Mission Bay Resort is a sprawling 357-room resort, boasting multiple dining options, a beautiful renovated pool, a kid's pool, astonishing Bay views, fire pits and so much more. We are excited to welcome a new Director of Leisure and Club Operations to our Mission Bay Family.
The JOB:
The Director of Leisure and Club Operations is responsible for the oversight of Club Membership sales & operations, the overall Resort activity offerings and operation, Teambuilding Activities, and the day-to-day operation of the Spa. This position leads a team of professionals to ensure the highest levels of service for our members and guests. This role involves strategic planning, staff management, budgeting, and ensuring all resort experiences and club operations are compliant with overall property mission and brand as well as the health, safety, and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operations Management:
- Oversee the daily operations of the Pool, Spa, Fitness Center and Recreation activities.
- Develop and implement operational procedures to enhance efficiency and service quality.
- Monitor and maintain the cleanliness, maintenance, and functionality of all facilities and equipment.
- Ensure all services meet or exceed the expectations of members, guests, and the organization.
- Staff Leadership & Development:
- Lead, manage, and develop a diverse team of staff, including managers, resort experience attendants, and other operational personnel.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing training to enhance employee skills.
- Foster a positive and engaging work environment to maintain high staff morale and reduce turnover.
- Customer Service & Member Relations:
- Ensure the highest level of customer service for all members and guests, handling complaints and resolving issues promptly.
- Develop programs and services to improve member satisfaction and retention.
- Monitor and track member feedback, using it to make improvements in service offerings.
- Financial Management:
- Develop and manage the operational budget for the leisure and club departments, ensuring cost control while maintaining service quality.
- Analyze financial reports and key performance indicators to assess operational performance and make adjustments.
- Drive revenue generation through innovative programs, events, or membership packages.
- Strategic Planning & Program Development:
- Work with senior management to define the strategic vision for the leisure and club facilities.
- Develop and implement new leisure programs and services based on market trends and customer feedback.
- Ensure all programming aligns with the San Diego Mission Bay, Noble House mission, enhancing the overall member and guest experience
- Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure that all operations are in compliance with local regulations, safety standards, and best practices.
- Regularly review health and safety procedures, ensuring staff are trained and safety protocols are followed.
- Marketing & Public Relations:
- Collaborate with the marketing team to promote the club services, programs, and events.
Qualifications:.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of management experience in a leisure, club, or hospitality environment, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop and implement effective operational strategies.
- Budget management, financial analysis, and forecasting experience.
- Customer-focused with a strong understanding of member satisfaction and service delivery.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and regulatory compliance in resort settings.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to move throughout the facility and interact with staff and members.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
