The Supply Partner Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with supply partners of tactical and first responder products and services.

Darley Defense, a division of the W.S. Darley company, specializes in using existing contracts to distribute products and services to the Federal Government. Darley Defense specializes in special operational equipment and fire and emergency services.


Requirements


  1. Maintain relationships with existing suppliers.
    1. Conduct periodic supplier syncs in order to maintain relationships. 
      1. Provide updates of our contracts, personnel and other company news. 
      2. Maintain understanding of DOR programs. Advise/educate on DOR programs. 
      3. Update teaming agreements where needed.
      4. Act as the main POC for select suppliers of Darley.  
    2. Conduct site visits with key suppliers as needed.
    3. Interface with suppliers at industry trade shows and conventions as needed. 
    4. Maximize margin potential by negotiating favorable terms and discounts. 
    5. Understand and manage supplier’s performance relating to contract compliance, quality, delivery, and other factors that determine Darley’s success as a government contractor.
  2. Onboard, assess initial risk and relationship category for new suppliers currently working with sales and BD. 
  3. Effectively communicate the details of Darley supplier relationships.
  4. Maintain current supplier profiles and records.
    1. Manage supplier account page information to include: POC’s, DOR forms, meeting notes, pricing, product spec sheets.
    2. Advise sales team on best use suppliers.   
  5. Coordinate sales training, joint sales calls, and lead sharing with Darley sales team and suppliers as needed. 
  6. Participate in cross functional team initiatives (Marketing, Inside Sales, Outside Sales, Operations).
    1. Team up with sales/BD on supplier calls in order to build relationships and secure business. 
    2. Assist with the production of marketing brochures and other collateral.
    3. Provide input for supplier promotions on social media.
    4. Assist Purchasing with supplier relationship/order issues as needed. 
    5. Test and embrace new IT systems. 
  7. Generate and analyze monthly data reports that illustrate suppliers’ positions within the Defense and Darley landscape; provide frequent communication of data and analysis to other team members.
    1. Work with Category Managers by Looking for opportunities to elevate supplier statuses to strategic. 
  8. Represent the company well by demonstrating core values and communicating key benefits of working with Darley.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities. 


Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses company standard office equipment such as computer and cell phones.


Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or as otherwise required.


Travel

This position requires up to 20% travel.


Education

Bachelor's degree in a business discipline or equivalent experience.


Experience

  1. 1-3 years supplier management experience. 
  2. Government contracting or similar experience. 
  3. A minimum of two years in a professional business role or similar.
