This role follows an onsite model to accommodate business needs while maintaining team collaboration.

Summary: The Senior Manager of facilities in Lansing is responsible for the building, grounds, housekeeping and all personnel servicing the Neogen Lansing Campus.  The campus is comprised of several buildings, several acres of land and parking lots. This role is responsible for all day-today activities, security and ongoing maintenance for the Lansing campus as well as the management of the facilities team and 24-hour coverage. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintenance and Repairs:

  • Planning and scheduling routine and non-routine maintenance tasks. 

  • Coordinating and supervising employees and contractors for repairs and upgrades. 

  • Ensuring building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.) are functioning correctly and efficiently. 

  • Manage work order system to track and resolve issues. 

  • Ensure the Preventative Maintenance System is implemented and followed.

• Facility Operations:

  • Collaborate with multiple business partners, other sites, and Facilities service teams

  • Overseeing cleaning, security, and other support services. 

  • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and building codes. 

  • Managing parking, landscaping, and other groundskeeping activities. 

• Budget and Contract Management:

  • Developing and managing the facilities budget. 

  • Negotiating contracts with vendors and service providers. 

  • Monitoring expenditures and ensuring cost-effectiveness. 

• Staff Supervision:

  • Lead teams, initiatives, and projects to create a significant change in how service delivery is performed with demonstrated improvement to cost and quality

  • Lead conflict management and team collaboration; develop talent and hold candid conversations

  • Hiring, training, and motivating supervising facilities staff. 

  • Promote and maintain a healthy safety culture

  • Evaluating performance and providing feedback. 

  • Addressing employee concerns and resolving issues. 

• Other Responsibilities:

  • Conducting regular facility inspections to identify potential problems. 

  • Developing and implementing emergency response plans. 

  • Staying current with industry trends and best practices.

  • Occasional travel may be required to support other sites.

Education and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S) from accredit College or University in Engineering.

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in Facilities Management, Leadership and Project Management for complex campus

• Controls Experience a plus.

• Leadership skills with strong communication and change management skills

• Several years of contracting / sourcing / purchasing experience

• Capex project management skills or related work experience.

• Proficiency in English is required
