Description

Set up and operate the line in order to produce product that meets quality specifications, maintain the machine systems, make necessary adjustments and troubleshoot common machine/quality problems.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot common machine/quality problems and make necessary mechanical adjustments to correct problems.
• Keep rolls packed and stacked to avoid stopping off production.
• Ensure proper cartons are being used for product being run.
• Check for bad cartons and inform maintenance and/or quality technician if more than a few.
• Monitor carton quality for proper placement of metal edge and pin holes in place.
• Perform brand and size changes in an efficient manner.
• Inspect finished cartons for quality product.
• Clean any jams out of shrink wrapper.
• Ability to thread shrink wrapper in an efficient manner.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of line to GMP standards by removing cartons and other trash, removing dust and debris, etc.
• Complete transfer tickets and production report.
• Troubleshoot minor quality and machine problems. Communicate more complex problems to maintenance.
• Assist with packing or stacking when primary job is caught up.
• Understand and follow production schedule.
• Identify substandard product or raw materials.
• Any other duties as requested or required.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Able to and willingly operates all edger at established average efficiency level of 90% or better. 
• Ability to lift 35 lbs
• Ability to stand ten hours (twelve during busy season)
• High school diploma or GED required
• 3-5 years manufacturing experience
• Ability to safely and efficiently operate forklift
