The CSU Chancellor's Office, located on the waterfront adjacent to the Aquarium of the Pacific in downtown Long Beach, is the headquarters for the nation's largest and most diverse system of higher education. Salary
The anticipated salary hiring range is up to $6,799 per month, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The salary range for this classification is $5,537 to $10,014 per month.

Administrative Analyst/Specialist – Exempt II
Position Information
The California State University, Office of the Chancellor, is seeking a Financial Reporting Analyst to support systemwide financial reporting, with a focus on 90+ auxiliary organizations. Reporting to the Financial Reporting Manager, this role prepares financial reports and analysis, develops reporting tools and training, evaluates audited statements for compliance, coordinates audit schedules, and serves as the key liaison between auxiliaries, external auditors, and the Chancellor’s Office.
This position is approved for telecommuting (two days telecommuting, three days in office (in-person)) with onsite work at the main headquarters located in Long Beach, California.
Responsibilities
Under the general direction of the Financial Reporting Manager, the Financial Reporting Analyst will perform duties as outlined below:
Systemwide Financial Reporting and Analysis
-Serve as the prime contact for component units financial reporting related matters and their respective external auditors, as needed.
-Perform analyses and reviews of the component units' stand-alone financial statements to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency including MD&A and notes to the financial statements.
-Review component units' auditor qualifications, framework and presentation, and external auditors' satisfaction survey.
-Perform analyses and reconciliations of component units' financial information with systemwide data to ensure accuracy, compliance, and integrity of the financial information for reporting of financial results, financial forecasts, and key business metrics.
-Prepare systemwide audit schedules related to component units to ensure timely submission to external audit firm.
-Assist in research for and preparation of systemwide passdown schedules.
-Evaluate impact of new GASB/FASB accounting standards as they apply to component units and participate in planning and developing financial reporting tools/guides for implementing new standards.
-Perform analyses and review of the component units' financial data to ensure timely implementation of accounting standards that include standalone financial statements and supplementary information for component units.
-Update CSU GAAP Accounting and Reporting manual as it applies to component units, including the Annual Financial Reporting Instructions.
-Actively participate in or lead workgroups to address policies, standards and procedures for financial reporting relating to component units.
-Research activities over complex accounting problems/issues.
Systemwide Coordination of Other Reporting and Compliance
-Assist in the review of the completion of corrective action plans for significant deficiencies arising from audits.
-Assist in the preparation of the IPEDS finance survey reports and related communications to campuses.
-Assist in NCAA Reporting and Compliance and related communications to campuses.
Systemwide Training
-Assist with the maintenance and update of systemwide training materials, analysis, and process improvements, and assist in training sessions.
-Provide training, guidance, and support to component units.
Other Assignments
Other assignments include the following, but not limited to:
-Assist in maintaining user access rights to Wdesk, SharePoint, and MoveIt;
-Assist in ensuring completeness and accuracy of the CSU GAAP User Access List;
-Ad Hoc reporting and other special projects assigned.
