Warehouse Senior Lead - 2nd Shift

Schedule: 5:30 am to 6:00 pm Fridays through Sundays. 12 hour shifts. OT may be required.
SUMMARY
The Warehouse Senior Lead Person is responsible for production personnel, processes, and performance to safety, quality, delivery, and cost standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Assists in the supervision of personnel and is responsible for the activities in their area of responsibility.
Assures that established policies, rules, regulations, and procedures are followed.
Responsible for the safety of personnel, processes, equipment, and housekeeping of the area.
Responsible for ensuring all processes, equipment, and personnel are meeting quality standards.
Ensures training and cross-training is conducted, effective, and training records are maintained.
Assists Warehouse Supervisor and/or Manager with employee development and administrative duties.
Assists Warehouse Supervisor and/or Manager with timekeeping by verifying accuracy of clock punches, reconciling time-clock exceptions and performing inter-departmental time transfers.
Assists Supervisor and/or Manager with employee scheduling and assignment of manpower to meet warehouse schedules.
Maintains thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment in area of responsibility.
Leads operational efficiency by reviewing manpower and equipment requirements based on warehouse needs.
Reports and follows up on all process and equipment problems.
Troubleshoots problems and participates in problem solving teams.
Identifies, recommends, and assists in the implementation of measures to improve warehouse methodologies
Verifies correct identification, handling, and storage of materials.
Coordinates and maintains visual controls used within warehouse areas.
Responsible for ensuring adherence to the policies and procedures of the quality standard TS16949 and environmental ISO 14001 standard.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists in the supervision of up to 35 employees. Provides direct leadership to team leaders and associated team members. Supports Warehouse Supervisor and/or Manager in daily responsibilities including training employees; planning, assigning, improving, and directing work; coaching, mentoring, and recognition for employees; addressing concerns and resolving problems; managing Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost performance.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or general education degree (GED); Minimum three years’ experience in leadership in a manufacturing or warehouse environment. Leadership experience, higher education/training; and/or equivalent combination of experience and education. An understanding of concepts for lean manufacturing.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups. Ability to communicate effectively with oral and written communication including telephone conversation.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Ability to operate proficiently a PC computer; use effectively word processing, spreadsheet and database software applications. Ability to draft and format memos, emails, spreadsheets, and graphs. Ability to navigate and perform duties in enterprise ERP and timekeeping software systems.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to interpret company and departmental financial data.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
