Job Description

Position Summary:

ISN is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our accounting team to perform a variety of accounting and administrative duties. We are looking for an energetic, self-starting, organized, detail-oriented candidate with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

This position interacts with senior management as such it has a high level of visibility in the company.

The Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring that financial and accounting activities are properly managed and in compliance with government contracting procedures. These activities include, but not limited to: processing semi-monthly payments to independent contractors, reviewing payroll for accuracy and Payroll entries, contract administration, and preparing month-end journal entries. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for monthly billings in CostPoint and submission to customers. Maintains account reconciliations, and conducts financial analysis activities as needed. This position reports to Controller.

Qualifications

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage and process monthly billings ensuring accuracy and timeliness of assigned projects and submission to customers.
  • Set up new contracts and update projects including modification in CostPoint as needed.
  • Work with Contracts and Programs teams related to new contracts and/or billings.
  • Responsible for processing and submitting semi-monthly independent contractors’ payments in our payroll vendor’s site.
  • Serve as a backup for semi-monthly payroll, including importing timesheets from Deltek to CostPoint
  • Maintain monthly balance sheet accounts reconciliations.
  • Prepare recurring, adjusting, and semi-monthly payroll entries.
  • Serve as a backup for Wire and ACH transactions.
  • Serve as a backup for setting up new hires and give access to projects and import information to Deltek.
  • Serve as a backup with assisting employees with expense reports as needed.
  • Maintain budget in the budget module of CostPoint.
  • Any other accounting and financial duties as required.

 

Required Skills and Experience:

 

  • This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 3 years recent Experience working with Deltek CostPoint 7.0. or higher.
  • Hands on experience processing billings on CostPoint.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in government contracting field.
  • Hands on experience processing payroll is helpful.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and resourcefulness.
  • Advance Excel Skills.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • The ability to learn and interact with other professionals.
  • Ability to perform and work as part of a team.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Solid understanding of accounting processes and procedures and U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Active clearance or eligibility for security clearance.
