Provide manufacturing engineering support to enable the successful transfer and launch of new programs into the Global Contract Manufacturing Platform. Work collaboratively with our internal businesses, global Cross functions and contract manufacturing partners to identify and mitigate risks preventing optimal launches. Drive a consistent approach to pre-launch NPI activity to ensure production stabilization and the timely execution of optimization projects post launch.

Principal Manufacturing Engineer- Global Contract Manufacturing 
Location: Lafayette, Colorado 

 

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. 

  • Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling. 

  • Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout. 

  • Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance. 

  • Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions. 

  • May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan. 

  • Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality. 

  • Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques. 

  • Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. 

  • Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations. 

  • Identify  design and process  optimization opportunities to improve safety quality and cost of the product and  manufacturing line. 

 

 

Must Have: Minimum Requirements   

  • Bachelor’s degree required 

  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant medical device manufacturing engineering experience or related field, or advanced degree with 5 years of relevant medical device manufacturing engineering experience or related field. 

Nice to Have: 

  • Test and Tester development experience, with hardware and software

  • Experience working on a range of scale and complexity of product from large capital equipment to small, less complex consumables

  • Experience working with finished goods suppliers
