The Master of Management in Hospitality (MMH) Program:

The MMH program at the Cornell Peter and Stephanie Nolan School of Hotel Administration prepares creative thinkers for careers where business, hospitality, and innovation meet. Students learn business management fundamentals and apply them through the lens of exceptional service—all while tapping into a dedicated professional network. This master’s degree program combines required courses in hospitality business, immersive industry experiences, and specialization options. The program is completed in three semesters (fall, spring, fall) and requires a summer internship.

This position is primarily responsible for the Cornell Nolan School Master of Management in Hospitality program. Reporting to the Nolan School of Hotel Administration’s Director of Student Services, with a dotted line relationship to the School’s Academic Director of the MMH Program, the Assistant Director for Student Services directly supports and advises students enrolled in the MMH program and serves as a vital member of the Nolan Office of Student Services team. This role must be extremely organized and strong at relationship building.

Heightened organization and communication are key for this position in coordinating tasks and work in serving as the point of contact for student inquiries, advising, and academic support throughout their program from pre-arrival onboarding, to graduation. The Assistant Director works under limited supervision to deliver dedicated support to MMH students by:

• Collaborating with faculty and the academic director on a regular basis to support the planning, coordination, logistics, and execution of the program to ensure programmatic and operational needs are met.
• Create processes, efficiencies, coordination, guides, and checklists around standard operational logistics of the program.
• Acts as liaison between faculty, staff, students and university colleagues.
• Advising a diverse body of MMH students on degree requirements, course plans, and academic procedures to ensure successful completion of degree.
• Working with students who are facing a variety of moderately complex institutional and personal issues, and connecting them to appropriate resources and support (Cornell Health, Student Disability Services, Financial Aid, faculty)
• Planning and executing signature events for the program including orientation, industry-focused trips, professional developme
