Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for our Components Analytical Group within the Mechanical Systems Externals and Nacelles (MSEN) Module Center. The selected candidate must have strong analytical, design, and leadership skills to expand the team
What You Will Do:
- Design and analyses of carbon face seals.
- Design and analyze rolling element bearings.
- Validation and project-related activity for commercial and military Pratt & Whitney gas turbine engines.
- Travel up to 5% both domestic and international.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering and 5 years of engineering experience; or an Advanced Degree in Engineering and 3 years of engineering experience.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Advanced degrees in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Systems Engineering.
- Aerospace industry experience involving gas turbine engine bearings and seal design, analysis, and testing.
- Ability to effectively lead, communicate, influence, and coordinate across teams in strategic projects and initiatives; and organizational and project management experience.
- Willingness to mentor and provide technical guidance to the team including junior engineers.
- Experience with CAD software, Minitab, MATLAB, ANSYS, and/or Python.

Department/Segment Overview: Mechanical Systems, Externals, & Nacelles (MSEN) Engineering organization is responsible for the design, development, and in-service support of power transmission systems, bearing compartment and rotor support design and analysis, oil and thermal management systems, engine externals packaging and architecture, as well as nacelles for commercial and military engine models. Technical disciplines include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, Product Definition, System Modeling, Mechanical Design analysis for bearings gears, and seals, and fluid-thermal modeling of associated components and systems.
