Job Description

We are looking for a Software Engineer (Android) (all genders) to join Performance & Reliability Domain team on our journey to always deliver amazing experiences.

The Performance & Reliability team is responsible for establishing performance and reliability standards across multiple teams, in alignment with Delivery Hero’s mission to deliver top-tier, high-performance, and reliable apps. The team focuses on developing innovative in-house tools that automate performance, release, and reliability processes.

In this role, you will work on cutting-edge internal tools that streamline and scale up performance, reliability, and release processes, providing automated alerts and setting quality and performance benchmarks. Our primary stakeholders are internal teams, and we spearhead initiatives aimed at enhancing the performance and reliability of the app.

• Enable a team of 70+ engineers to ship performant products with high quality

• Being part of the Android infrastructure team, you own / work / build / maintain performance of the app and performance tooling

• You are going to be part of the team that influences performance standards, best practices and detect performance issues with automation

• Support other teams by providing tooling, infrastructure support for better productivity and quality 

• Monitor, analyse and improve the performance of the app, infrastructure and CI pipelines

• Be a leader and a role model, setting high standards for engineering excellence, performance and scalability

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in Android development with Kotlin

• Solid understanding of the Android OS internals.

• Passionate about crafting simple solutions to complex engineering problems and writing readable, maintainable, well tested code

• Experience with multithreaded programming and proper state management

• Experience with CI/CD, Automation tools and strong testing practices

• Experience in measuring, monitoring, performance profiling and improving application performance

Nice to have:  

• Experience with scripting languages, for advanced CI integrations

• Experience with performance monitoring tools and ability to effectively use performance profiling tools combined with strong analytical and problem solving skills
