The Visiting Assistant/Associate Professor of Criminal Justice and Security Studies will develop and teach cybersecurity and cybercrime investigation courses and other courses in the B.S. in Criminal Justice and/or M.S. in Homeland Security Studies Programs. The new hire also advises students, participates in accreditation activities, engages in professional scholarship or development, assists in developing internship relationships and student opportunities, and participates in school and college-wide service. The new hire will teach courses and advise students for two semesters.

Responsibilities include:

• Teach five (5) 3-credit courses in the 2024-25 academic - 3 in the fall and 2 in the spring or vice-versa. 

• Assist in curriculum development. 

• Advise up to 25 students.

• Attend department, school, and college meetings.

• Engage in professional development, scholarship, research, and/or publishing.

• Participate in department, school, and college service.

• Maintain and post regular office hours. 

Requirements/Qualifications

• Ph.D. or ABD in Criminal Justice or Criminology.

• Open to all areas within the field of Criminal Justice with a preference for a candidate who can develop curricula and teach Cybercrime Investigation-related courses

• Evidence of professional experience and/or ongoing scholarly activities (research, publications, presentations, etc.) that enhance teaching and deepen knowledge base in subject areas.  

• College-level teaching experience.

• Desire to work in a student-centered, teaching-oriented institution
