JOB SUMMARY
The Acute Dialysis Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing acute hemodialysis therapy. They shall independently perform critical tasks in assessing, initiating, monitoring and terminating treatment in an acute hospital setting. The nursing care being provided is under the direction and in cooperation with the company's medical director and in accordance with physician orders, Policies, Procedures and Guidelines, OSHA, HCFA, AAMI, JCAHO, CMS, federal, state and local regulations.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required
- Education
Graduate of an approved/accredited nursing program either by a governmental authority, nursing board, or by a licensing authority that has jurisdiction over approval/accreditation of nursing programs (Texas BON 217.1).
- Experience
One (1) year of acute care dialysis or critical care experience required. Specialty areas may have increased experience requirements as dictated by unit or standard of care.
- Licenses and Certifications
(RN) REGISTERED NURSE Upon Hire and
(BLS) BASIC LIFE SUPPORT Upon Hire and
(ACLS) ADV CARDIAC LIFE SUPPORT Upon Hire
Preferred
- Education
BSN preferred.
- Experience
Two (2) years of experience preferred.
- Licenses and Certifications
Certified Nephrology Nurse Certification preferred. Upon Hire
JOB DUTIES
- Responsible for providing the appropriate treatment technique for assigned patients as prescribed in all modality procedures.
- Assesses patients‿ responses to treatment therapy making appropriate adjustments and modifications to the treatment plan as indicated by the appropriately physician. Communicates problems or concerns to appropriately credentialed physician, patient hospital primary nurse and others as necessary.
