Global Technology Business Operations drives alignment across teams to set goals, implement initiatives and programs, and improve processes—enabling GT to run efficiently and effectively while encouraging a strong culture.
Role Summary
This Level 25 role belongs to the Global Technology Business Management group and runs the operating system maintaining GT leadership cadences, planning, and narratives. This ensures the CoS remains focused on BoD, GLO, and other eBay-level strategic work.
Works closely with: Sr. Manager, Business Operations (L27) (planning & operating model), GT business partners, GT Biz Ops/CoS network
Support/enablement: AWF (tech engagement programs), plus dotted-line coordination across the GT Biz Ops community
Core Responsibilities
1) Executive cadence ownership (run the machine)
Own end-to-end operating cadence for key GT leadership forums (e.g., GT Ops Review / GTOR), including coordinated timeline, agenda, pre-reads, attendance hygiene, decision documentation, follow-ups, and action-item closure—so leaders show up prepared and outcomes stick.
Maintain the single source of truth for decisions, actions, and recurring asks across GT leadership touchpoints (e.g., goals, operational metrics, initiative metrics, blockers).
Support preparation of weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews and operating reviews (e.g., BoD/WBR/MBR/QBR) through high-quality pre-reads, clear storylines, and closed-loop follow-through.
2) Planning + initiative operating model (pull work down from L27 where appropriate)
In partnership with the L27, run the program management spine for strategic planning: create and lead timelines and project plans, coordinate cross-functional inputs, and drive communications across teams during the planning process.
Stand up and maintain the operating model for org-level initiatives: templates, review cadences, status hygiene, metrics readiness, and consistent reporting quality (while raising decisions to the L27/CoS).
Translate strategy into concrete, prioritized execution plans with clear success metrics, dependencies, and resourcing assumptions; ensure plans are reflected in portfolio tracking and leadership cadences.
Maintain planning documentation and process guides; organize cross-functional workshops, alignment sessions, and working sessions with key partners to drive clarity and decisions.
3) Narrative + representation (how GT shows up)
Build and lead the GT narrative pipeline for executive and enterprise-level audiences: concise highlights, talking points, and storylines for forums like GT All Hands and board-facing inputs.
Partner with internal communications to ensure consistency of voice, messaging, and packaging quality across GT materials and communications.
Develop visibility for GT through documentation, reporting, and data support (e.g., highlights, readouts, and executive-ready summaries).
4) Information architecture + knowledge base (Hub / Wiki / Drive)
Own GT front door + intranet information architecture: define taxonomy, governance, and publishing standards; keep content current and easy to navigate across Hub, Wiki, and shared drives.
Lead regular inventory and hygiene (what belongs where, archiving, findability, link integrity) and align the structure to GT workflows.
Ensure onboarding artifacts (e.g., Global Technology 101 and org charts) are maintained, discoverable, and kept evergreen for a ~4K technologist org (and ~6K including AWF).
5) Force-multiplier + special projects
Act as the CoS’s delegate to drive cross-team follow-ups and unblock execution when the ask is go make it happen.
