JOB SUMMARY
The Medical Office Specialist is responsible for the daily operations of front office functions, including but not limited to: training and orienting new staff, meeting and greeting patients, registration, assisting with rescheduling of appointments (including missed appointments), charge reconciliation, screening and directing telephone calls.
This individual also assists with EKGs, processing of EKGs for both inpatient and out patients. Serves as a resource person for Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and ambulatory cardiac monitoring platforms (Zio/Irhythm). A key contributor to the overall success of the department, the Medical Office Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring a positive first impression and maintaining high patient satisfaction. This position requires exceptional reliability, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in business or a healthcare-related field, preferred
Minimum Work Experience
Prior experience in a healthcare or physician practice setting, preferred
