Job Description

This position has a flexible hybrid schedule (Partly In-Office & Partly Remote each week, depending on department needs)

The Indiana University Foundation invites applications for the Payroll Associate position on our Accounting and Finance Team. 

An exceptional candidate for this position is collaborative, a great problem solver, and someone who is continuously seeking to learn and grow.  This position is responsible for the execution of 3-4 payroll processes on a monthly basis. The successful candidate will possess the ability to research and troubleshoot payroll issues, including researching and setting up out-of-state payroll for our remote employees.

Regular tasks include balancing and controlling earnings and deduction totals, calculating and preparing general ledger entries, inspecting automated system output such as registers and standard reports, determining and correcting out-of-balance conditions, researching and preparing special reports for management, and processing garnishments and levies.

The ideal candidate is proficient in payroll vending systems (Dayforce preferred), has a keen knowledge of payroll and tax regulations and forms, and is a true team player and problem solver. Apply today!

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • A keen eye for detail is essential
  • Ability to learn quickly to understand rules/regulations
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload
  • Analytical skills and interpretive reasoning
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of Windows applications
  • Experience in Dayforce or other HRIS systems
  • Ability to perform multiple concurrent tasks
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • An Associate degree in business or a related field required
  • 2-3 years of experience in accounting/payroll required
  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred, in business or related field
  • Experience with out-of-state tax filings preferred
  • FPC or CPP designation preferred. Qualified candidates without one or both certifications will be asked to pursue these designations as part of their professional development plan
